The Canadian Immigration main website. Skilled workers, visas, and exchange programs. I highly recommend talking to either Rossi, JB, Sarah Cascade or Mel if you are interested in moving to Canada. I can provide limited details about Ontario, and I'm sure any of our half-dozen Vancouverites can do the same for the West Coast.

a. Vancouverite right here, should anyone want to know about a part of Canada where it doesn't, you know, *snow*.

Also here, am a Vancouverite, and anything I can't answer, my mum, who is a social worker, can.

Oh, yes. The lack of snow. Ever.

And ditto on B.

This is a really long shot - but do you know anything about the art market in Ontario? It looks like that area has the most job listings for graphic designers/illustrators...

Toronto is a huge marketing and publishing centre, so graphic design and illustration is extremely open here. The only negative thing is that one of the best art colleges in North America is just to the south, so the competition is fairly fierce.

So, huge market, but also fairly competitive.

And if you've ever been struck with the overwhelming impulse to spend a lot of time with wheat, there's always Saskatchewan...

One of my fellow film students has bravely offered himself up as marriage material for any lovely American ladies out there looking for Canada's equivalent of a green card.

*snicker* That was the highlight of my day.

Although really, anyone who really does want to come up here, I've been on a student visa for 5.5 years now, and know most of the ins and outs of the process (and if I don't, I know who to talk to to get info), so I should be able to answer most questions you might have about student visas/work permits ect.
