Mary Prankster was brilliant, as was Mekong and Air. There is some very interesting things in Voltaire and Lemon Jelly, and I'm still working on St Germaine.

Stereophonics. Another case of a skinny pasty English guy with the voice of a 300 lb opera singer, devoting his voice to a classic rock sound.

Actually he's Welsh, but apart from that the description fits ;) And I can second the recommendation - the Stereophonics are highly under-rated and should really be listened to by a lot more people.

I also think they should do a tour in Australia very soon, but that's probably just wishful thinking...
