Nothing Succeeds Like Secession
Nov. 12th, 2012 01:01 pmWe have finally reached the most joyous of the stages of mourning following the loss of a federal election in the US. The Kübler-Ross model famously articulated the stages of death as Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. This also applies to politics.
1. Denial - "We didn't lose! There were serious voting irregularities! West is demending a recount and that's going to blow the lid off the whole thing! FOX called Ohio too early! I never even wrote a concession speech! The President doesn't have a mandate because he's victory was made up of women, gays and minorities, not real voters!"
2. Anger - "America is DEAD!!! I just can't see the future of this country! I fear for my children and the world they will inherit! The Socialist Commie won, and I hope you're happy with the world of NIGHTMARE AND DEATH AND SOVIET ARRRGHHHBBBLLLARRRGHH!!!"
3. Bargining - "I'm moving to Canada/Australia/Europe/etc where they have a leader who is a real Christian and not some Islamic Kenyan traitor who hates freedom! We're going to secede! Texas will be it's own country! See, you Libtards don't understand anything about American freedcom and American rights and true American exceptionalism and we'll prove it to you by leaving Americ- wait..."
Very soon we will see depression, which is similar to anger, but delievered in a whine instead of screaming. And finally, acceptance. 'Huh, it's four years after the Liberal Apocalypse and things seem pretty much the sam- OMG HILARY CLINTON IS A FEMINAZI MAXIST WHORE WHO WANTS MANDATORY ABORTIONS FOR ALL CHRISTIANS A THOUSAND NIGHTS OF DARKNESS ARRRGHHHBBBLLLARRRGHH!!!"
To be fair, this is fair close to what you heard from Democrats in 2000/2004, except at the time, I believe their solution was to make Texas secede as well.
