Laboured Days
Sep. 6th, 2011 01:30 pmHere's your update into the world of Dex that I know you've all be thrashing away at your internets to get. No, really - thrashing.
Actually, I've had a very fun weekend. Spent Saturday pickling with a group of friends and came away with a trove of goodies - green and yellow beans, cauliflower, red cabbage, asparegus, and traditional dill pickles. It was a surprising amount of fun, despite the ever present reek of brine on the stove, operating like a low yield tear gas grenade.
Sunday was spent at the Ex - the Canadian National Exhibition - down by the water. Getting there early let us truck through all the pavilions at breakneck speed ahead of the crowds. I tried the deep fried butter with intensely mediocre reactions, won my girl a demented grapefruit doll, and got to enjoy the cabbage rolls from the place that has been in the food pavilion since before I was born. The rest of the day was spent watching DVDs bought at the 5 for $20 place in the International pavilion.
And on Monday, it was a day of cleaning up, seeing off Lauren for her return to Winnipeg for the week to help her mother, watching the world go by, and talking to Frito for a couple of hours on the phone.
All in all, it was a very pleasant weekend and Labour Day. And now, I have three final interviews scheduled this week, all of which plan to make their offers at the start of next week. So, I'll either have a job by this time next week, or I'll restart the job search with a spate of interviewing experience under my belt.
