Howard Zinn

Unfortunately, it seems Howard Zinn has died at age 87. Zinn's 'The People's History of the United States' has many critics, but it remains an intriguing and, for its time, daring delve into American history, highlighting many of the key elements around the building of the United States which were bloody, oppressive and undemocratic. At the same time, it never lost the basic sense of remarkable pride in the accomplishments of the people who shaped the history, both good and bad.
