Going Dark
Feb. 25th, 2009 05:53 pmI'll be shutting down my computer and doing some major overhauling of the system to try and repair the problems that have all but crippled it. My laptop is likewise out of commission, and possibly unrepairable, so if something goes wrong and I can't get my desktop up and running again, I'll be for the most part unavailable for the next while.
So, if I seem out of touch the next few days, that's the reason. On the plus side, if I can make this work, I should be back to normal operations, which I've been on the decline from for two solid years now.
EDIT: Updated so far. Things look fine, although I'm going to be awhile getting programs that I need and reloading them. Still, it's a start.
EDIT 2: Spoke too soon. Somehow have acquired the Win32:Agent-ADPX trojan horse virus, and this motherfucker is Agamemnoning its way around my computer. Have used both Avast and AVG to root it out with little effect. Keeping Ad Aware and Avast running to contain it while seeing if the MalwareBytes and HijackThis people on the forum can find a permenant solution.
Anyone with specific knowledge about this fucker are welcome to make suggestions.
