dexfarkin: (Writing)
Lars Grimshock stood up from the fire at last, gripping his two-headed battle axe in his massive bronzed hands and gestured with a greatly muscle arm. Around him stood the greatest heroes that Arturna had ever seen; Etris Moloch, the elven mage that had once challenged the lich Ahman-Set and pulled him down in a magic battle that had lit the skies with eldritch fires visible from hundreds of miles away; Hierophant Kain, the Hammer of the Red God and hero of the desperate final stand at Mastife which threw back the goblin hordes. The mysterious Sparrowhawk, an exotic assassin of renowned beauty and skill, who felled the mad King Cymtic VI to free the Shadow Coast of his tyranny. Finally, himself, the greatest barbarian world to leave Clan Kurukh and venture south from the Frozen Lands of the Blue Ice Lake and challenge the world to bring the mightiest warrior to face him.

Four legends, all eyes turned as he raised his axe to the dark heavens.

“There will be no fear in our hearts, comrades! The armies of the Orc Prophet are naught but chaff before our power. Even if we should die, all Arturna will know we four turned back the tide and saved their freedom!” A chorus of cheers followed his words, and two of the remaining three stood. Lars seemed to freeze slightly.

“So, did anyone read the walkthrough for this?”

“New content. But,” Etris made a gesture in the air. “According to IGN, there’s a suit of abolith hide armour in this expansion that gives barbarians an extra 10 points of combat feats.”

“Cool. What about the Prophet? Shaman or what? That stupid lich-sorcerer thing put me back three months in farming the Bright Armour greaves.”

“No idea. I’m going to check the forum.”

“Aren’t those blocked from here?”

“I installed a patch on my iPhone to push content as IMs into the interface, bypassing the URL and content blockers.”

“I just want to level to—“ Kain froze as well. “Sorry guys, I need to take out the garbage. Yes, alright Mother! I’ll be back in five.”

“Figures. Every time we get ready, he has to—“ Lars paused and waved his hand in front of Sparrowhawk exquisitely shaped but frozen face. “Oh hell. He’s timed out again.”
