Sorta. Still working on the internet at home issue. Fortunately, considering I work about nine thousand hours a week, I have been able to avoid the withdrawl that is currently killing Doqz. He sits at the computer and makes woeful modem noises, hoping something will happen. It's creepy.

So, I'm playing the good Doctor Nathaniel Essex in x_journal. It's a totally new experience; a kind of multi-level LARPing, using several different venues. I'm still feeling out the process, and being stuck with just e-mail/lj access has prevented me from really getting into the thick of it, but it has a certain charm.

Essex is a truely evil bit of work to play, as I romp through the teachers with my mad Transhumanism and work to make a more human face to the student. Kitty Pryde and Mister Sinister. Who'dathunkit? It's also fun to completely throw people by dropping named, like Professor Farouk of Cairo and such.

I don't think I'll be playing for very long. I don't have that love of focused method roleplaying that this sort of thing seems to require, or enough control to push through the more RR styled plotlines that I enjoy. However, it will be fun to see where Essex ends up, and what sort of twists I can throw into the game. At the very least, it's given me some new short fic ideas; a throw-away to link to RAZOR, with Essex and Stryker. Have to see.

FALL ON YOUR KNEES plods on. This story is getting uglier and uglier, and a whole new element with London has come in. I have to get to the library and do some research on it, but I plan on a lot of comparisons back to the Big Stink and Southwark. Plus John as the completely vile prick is good for effective dialogue.
