The answers...

1. The first piece of fanfiction posted under the name \'Dex\' on-line was:
The Sum of Zero 0
Ice and Roses 6
Chopsticks and Moonlight 6
Orphans 6
Legacies of Winter 1

"Ice and Roses" was my very first piece of fanfiction, starring Emma Frost, Iceman and a cast of dozens.

2. Dex has often described his Emma Frost as a mix between Dorothy Parker, Catherine Deneuve and who?
Mae West 10
Margethe Graham 2
Virginia Woolf 4
Mariko Akechi 0
Esme Weatherwax 3

Esme or "Granny" Weatherwax is very much the underpinnings of Emma, with a rigid sense of personal right and wrong, on her own moral scale. Twinned with that is the idea that when she goes bad, you does it better than anyone. The Mae West thing is actually a Lobdell quote, from his time in Gen-X.

3. The name of the Number in \'The Sum of Zero\' is:

Allen Michael Davis 1
James Thomas Fuller 1
John David Becket 4
Thomas Allen Eckert 9
David John Webster 4

A pretty obvious one. David John Webster was the man that Eckert killed and replaced to escape the asylum.

4. Dex\'s first fanfiction not involving Marvel characters was:

Heels Britanna 5
Deck The Halls 4
Paying For It 3
Legacies of Winter 4
Christmas At Stake 3

Posted a short time before Deck The Halls, Legacies of Winter was one of the first Jenny Sparks fics to hit the comic fanfiction mainstream.

5. In the four stories of the White Queen trilogy, which character does not make an appearance?

Pete Wisdom 2
Psylocke/Betsy Braddock 4
Phoenix/Jean Grey 0
Sebastian Shaw 2
Gambit/Remy LeBeau 11

Phoenix and Shaw appeared in "To Mistress, With Love...", Pete Wisdom was a central character in "Pass The Potatoes", and Gambit has appeared in both "Ice and Roses" and "To Mistress, With Love..." Psylocke appears in "The Sum Of Zero".

6. What series has Dex contributed stories to?

X-S Series 1
X-Writers 5
The Common People (TCP) 8
Marvel-One 0
The Arlecinno Timeline 5

"Bureaucratic Moasics and Faith" is a story about X-Factor in Falstaff's AU. While I have written stories for both the X-Writers and TCP, I have never posted them.

7. What object does Jubilee keep through \'Ophans\', \'Eulogy\', and the Beyond-X series?

Watch 7
A teddybear 4
The same underwear (ick) 0
Earrings 2
X-Men jacket 6

It is a brushed steel watch, with a gold X on the front. It was given to Scott by Xavier, and he passed it along to Jubilee.

8. In \'The Man On The Mountain Sitting With Himself\', who is the Dreamer?

Nate Grey 11
Hank McCoy 1
Steve Rogers 4
Charles Xavier 1
Cable 2

This was a nasty one, it seems. Nate Grey is the Man on the Mountain. Captain America/Steve Rogers is the Dreamer.

9. Dex has written two stories based off of seperate works from what two fanfiction authors?

Matt Nute/JB McDragon 7
Kaylee/Kielle 2
Paradoqz/Matt Nute 3
Sequioa Swennes/Kaylee 6
Kielle/Lise 1

To explain. I have never written a story based off of either Nute's or JB's work. "Counterpoint" was written in response to Sequioa Swennes "Monile", and "Crimson" was written in response to Kaylee's "Shades of Red".

10. What is the name of Emma Frost\'s executive assistant in the White Queen Arc?

Lynn Bowman 5
Hazel Torres 1
Jane Wilson 1
Claire Watkins 7
Anne Phillips 5

Claire Watkins, Emma's EA, defacto Chairman of Frost Industries and almost better at it than Emma herself.

http://dexf.friendtest.com for the MEDIUM difficulty. I've decided to add a little prize to the person to gets the highest score across all three quizzes. Have at it!

BTW: Rossi, you tried to take the test as I was editing it. You might want to retake it.

Considering the score I got, I think I'm scared to try. ;)

You online for long? I'm bored and I have AIM and an Ice Age has risen and fallen since I last spoke to you...

Um, I've got yahoo messenger. I'm at work. It's sinister_dna on Y! You can get a web based Y! on the yahoo.com site. And take the test again. I think you were answering questions as I changed them. I mean, it shows you as getting a question about 'The Case Of The Comatose Writer' wrong.

Bah, I knew there was a reason I preferred AIM... Messenger isn't letting me on - guess I'll catch up with you next time.

Hah!

Vindication- of sorts. 60 ain't great, but it's a hell of a lot better than 10.

I knew I paid more attention than that. . . :)

Well, I didn't want to post one about personal stuff, so I thought I'd pimp my stories instead...

Wait a minute..... I was embarrased when I scored zero and nearly crawled around the net trying to find some of your work since I obviously have not read it and then I actually got one the medium hard quiz?

*crawls around looking for your fanfiction anyway*

Should I leave feedback or should I just assume you've received oddles of it and save you from my bad grammar?

Never assume anything about feedback - go nuts, bad grammer and all. *grins*

Seriously, it's this assumption, that the more well-known writers have gotten stacks of feedback already, that makes sre they get squat. Because everyone is thinking the same thing, no-one's actually sending anything, and said writer is wondering what the point of posting was.

Oops, ignore that last bit - I was projecting. ;)

I was joking. As soon as I read some I will send feedback, bad grammar and spelling and all.

I've been around long enough to understand that feedback is the meat and drink of fandom wriiters.

*salutes*

Are all you "old timers" watching your feedback slow to a trickle?

Sorry, hard to tell vocal tone without an actual voice, y'know? ;)

In answer to your question, yes, as far as I can tell from talking to people, pretty much all the old timers are having a feedback drought. I'm lucky if I get maybe one or two comments, and those from people who _always_ feedback. I know Dex *waves to the person whose LJ she's filling up* hasn't been getting hardly anything either. AFAIK, there's a lot of people who actually have that assumption seriously, and don't bother.

speaking of dex..........

besides your yahoo group which won't let me in and ff.net which I don't want to go in where else are you archived?

Deathpixie,

you're right tone is a pain in the behind to pick up on email and comments. No smiles, hand motions or inflections in voice. My print can't convey jokey or serious.

Best place to find my stuff is on the Itty Bitty Archives, The Fonts of Wisdom and Alternate Timelines.

Yahoo won't let you on? That's strange. The posts are not member locked, so you should be able to take a look at things.

If you have trouble finding anything, let me know and I can e-mail it to you.

Nope.

It's okay. I got in on yahoo. I'm prowling around the archive sites you listed...... I'm pondering why I keep seeing the same thirty names or so in all these places..... *pokes*

You people are a borg collective.

*trots off to send feedback*

Remember, most of those sites grew out of the main fanfiction mailing list for a long time, OTL. X-Fiction and fanfiction.net are relative newcomers for those who've been around a long time.

Yes I'm learning that. Especially when I realized I was giving feedback for stories that have been on the net longer than I have.

*blushes*

Maybe I should read some of your more recent stuff.

*ponders*

Aw screw it, I'll send the feedback and you can tell me I need therapy. It's better that way. I'm assuming you don't care if I'm reading older stuff.

What to hear something really funny? What you're feedbacking is what I consider my 'recent' stuff. *grin*

Read whatever interests you, and I'll be glad to hear any comments you might have.

okay...
