I keep wondering why I see this kind of thoughtful introspection from bloggers who identify as Republican. Are there Democrats that have blogs or columns that are as intelligently written? That are willing to point out the flaws in their own party?

Generally the only thing that likes attacking Democrats more than Republicans are other Democrats. Yes, there are a great many well written Democratic blogs. The difference is that the usual issues for Democrats are being swamped by the sheer horror at the kind of march back into the gilded age policies of the current GOP. So the circular firing squad has gone dorment for now.
