Random Political Thought

If there is something in Romney's tax returns that would render him all but unelectable, the GOP have a month between now and the convention. Considering even GOP stalwarts like Perry are weighing in that he should do it and put the matter to rest, you wonder if the possibility exists that they might jettison their presumptive nominee?

It would be a very unique situation, but let's say disclosure turns out to be a total poison pill. Under that scenario, delagates could possibly claim that Romney's omission of those facts during the primaries is tantamount to defrauding the voters, and that being the case, releases the nominees from the voting results, creating an open floor vote right off the bat.

Again, it's a very slim possibility, but you have to imagine that its being entertained by some Republican leaders. Romney does not excite his base, he is losing independents, his traction in the battleground states he needs to win is eroding, and his campaign has been nothing but a clown show of gaffes, poor optics, and terrible management. While both the risk and the cost to supplant Romney would be huge, you wonder if they're looking at it as an option.
