David Tennant took his stage name from Neil Tennant, of the Pet Shop Boys. His original name is McDonald. Brain has taken all of this to end up with (god help me) an Walshian techno pop opera starring the Doctor and his raging heroin addiction, assisted by an army of Lady GaGa-esque companions who wheel him from basement rave to gay clubs seeking the Master. For reasons I don't want to explain.
