Well, I didn't make it. I have donated $40CDN in the names of those sponsoring me today, although feel free to pass along a donation to the Association if you want to. I'm pretty passionate about supporting literacy programs.

As of today, I stand at 41, 551 words. My default plan was to hack out 10K words on the weekend if I had to, but prior commitments derailed that. Really, the only thing that prevented me from completing my goal was time. I lost one weekend of work to a computer virus, and another weekend to moving/parents/friends obligations, and that was the difference. Being absolutely flat out at work didn't help.

In all though, there are a number of positives I'm taking away, the first of which being that my 'novel' is a project for Christmas, and it will be done by the end of the week, finishing off something I've been dithering with for three years now without getting completed. I've been in the process of updating a lot of my files for the new computer, and taking some projects I've had hanging and finally making a push to at least get them done and off the list. That means I might target my script for Feb, and get back to MS JESUS. I've now got the financial ability to produce it myself, and the entire three issue script is mostly complete. So I suppose what I'm talking away from it is a nice kickstart for some projects again, as opposed to the somewhat fruitful but intensely meandering and unfocused short story writing I've been doing for the last couple of months.

So it is doubtful I'll do it again, but I'm glad I chose to take a crack at it. It's nice to know that on a deadline, I can keep my mouth shut, head down, and just flat out produce creatively still.
