My parents are very odd.

Been pricing computers since my desktop is dying, and in a couple of months, I'll have the resources to buy a new one. It is a sign of getting older when a top of the line full desktop package costs less than what I paid for my first scanner twelve years ago.

Had dinner out on a whim for the first time in ages. It's funny, but it's the little things that you end up missing when you're broke. It's not the big purchases like computers or suits or the like. It's the ability to walk by a place and say 'maybe I'll give it a try' and be able to just walk in for lunch.
Adjusting is very weird.

So, I can now start to buy books again. You have no idea how happy this makes me. What is everyone reading, and what do people recommend that has come out over the last eighteen months or so?
