George Carlin, RIP at 71.
The surprising thing about George Carlin is that he remains one of the very few comedians to remain relevent since his intro in the 60s. I saw him in concert about six years ago, treated to the sight of a 65 year old man pantomiming jerking off on a chair. A slightly horrifying image, but backed up with the kind of fast, accurate, hard-hitting comedy that you only get from someone who isn't doing a bit or schtick, but instead has constructed an entire act around a series of themes and ideas that he's passionate about. The greatest thing about Carlin wasn't just that he was funny, but also how often he was right.
The following is his comparison between baseball and football.
