Drugs on the bus
Feb. 26th, 2004 09:48 amJust one of the more interesting random things happening in the last few weeks.
Down at the Bishop and the Belcher, with a good chunk of my staff, having an 'off-site' training session (it's very good to be management sometimes) and a round arrives compliments of the owner. There were eight of us at the table.
So, rock up to thank Jennifer and get DexCon stuff worked out. She's all for cutting us a good deal, and I'm all for the free pint waiting back at the table. Couldn't be that good kharma?
Worked out some details with the boss. If I need it, I have sponsership for a couple of people. In fact, if Jenna is going to stay in Canada, my boss with personally sponser her. Considering he's got close to eight figures in the bank, that's a rubber stamp on the application. So, yet another hurtle crossed.
Owners put forward new salary and commission structure. Not on a contract yet, but seems solid. Correct response is 'WOW'. So close I can taste it, and just waiting for the other shoe to drop. My weird retire by thirty plan is looking less impossible, and I should definitely have the money I need to publish MS JESUS the way I want to.
Mel and I almost got involved in a bar fight on Tuesday. Then drank with the band for a hour after the set.
So, it's been a good week. That makes me worry. If an asteriod wipes out my apartment on the weekend, this is the reason why.
